Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology is looking for experienced English Instructors!

1) Job Description

– Position title: Full time English Instructor

– Covering Fields:

1) Type 1: Main job description is “General Teaching”

(Academic Writing, TOEFL, other English language-related areas, etc.)

2) Type 2: Main job description is “Editing”

(Document editing, paper editing, proof reading, editing-related classes, etc.)

– Working Hours: Total 28 hours/week

– Contract period

1) Type 1: 1 year starting March 30, 2015

2) Type 2: 1 year starting April 1, 2015

※ Applicants who apply to type 1 need a training around 1 week before the

work starts(the period can be adjusted).

※ Both are renewable after the annual evaluation.

– Salary: 2.3 million-2.6 million per month (depending on qualifications)

– Benefits: A shared office equipped with a computer

Health insurance

6 weeks of holidays(3 weeks during Summer and Winter vacation)

Monthly support of \350,000 in case you pay monthly housing rent

2) Qualifications: A native English speaker

B.A. degree

Preferred qualifications

  • Korean-English bilinguals(acquired foreign nationality)
  • Master’s or higher degree in English/English education or engineering field

(in case of doctors, the salary can be negotiated regardless of the maximum salary cap according to the careers)

  • Teaching/editing experience in other universities or college
  • Experience of curriculum development

3) Documents to be submitted

– Resume with a recent photo attached (6 months or less)

– At least 2 Recommendation letters from previous employers

– Copies of degree(s) and certificate(s),

– Copies of Passport and Certificate of Alien Registration

5) Interviews(sample lecture)

– March 13~15

– Those selected for the interviews will be contacted by the university individually after the first screening.

– Sample lecture

  • Type 1: Your presentation of a sample lecture(around 15 minutes)

Q&A(around 10 minutes)

Pick a topic and give a sample lecture to the interviewers

Focus on how to teach writing for non-native students of university level

  • Type 2: Your presentation of a sample lecture(around 15 minutes)

Q&A(around 10 minutes)

Pick a topic and give a sample lecture to the interviewers

Focus on how to give a short lecture of errors from editing

– Sample editing: 1~2 page’s sample editing around 30 minutes
